SERVICES

We start where you are.
We build forward from there.

Sideways exists to help churches and faith-based organizations make the most of the tools they already have; building digital experiences that honor God, deepen discipleship, and point people to Jesus.

How we think

Better experiences built through iteration.

We start with where you are and move forward together; refining along the way, not reinventing everything from scratch. Every engagement follows the same rhythm.

01

Discover & Define

We get aligned on your goals, your audience, and what's working; and what isn't. Not just features; the bigger picture.

02

Strategy & Design

We create a clear plan based on what we've learned; a focused direction, not guesswork. Every decision is intentional.

03

Build & Iterate

We work in the open, with full visibility into every step. By launch, it's been tested, refined, and proven to work.

04

Launch & Support

Going live isn't the finish line. We stick around for launch, for questions, and for everything that comes after.

That rhythm maps to three types of engagement — and every church starts wherever makes sense for them.

PHASE 01

Discovery Session

Before anything is built, we align on goals, resolve technical unknowns, and define exactly what will be scoped. This protects your investment and prevents surprises mid-build.

Fixed fee - Standalone or rolled in

PHASE 03

Ongoing Partnership

Continuous support, updates, and development; keeping the work healthy and growing long after launch. This is where iteration really happens.

Ongoing - Flexible commitment

Not every church starts at Phase 01. Some come in ready to build; others already have something launched and need a steady partner. Wherever you are, the engagement is shaped around your church; not a fixed template.

Phase 01 · Discovery Session

Resolve the unknowns before the build begins.

A Discovery Session is a dedicated, paid engagement that answers the hard questions before a single line of code is written; what platform connects to what, where data lives, and what scope actually makes sense for your church.

Let's start with discovery

Technical alignment

We map your existing platforms, identify integration points, and surface any constraints that would affect the build; before they become mid-project surprises.

Scope definition

Discovery produces a clear, agreed-upon scope. Nothing changes without your sign-off. If discovery reveals the project is bigger than expected, we pause and present options.

Standalone or rolled in

Discovery can stand alone as a consulting engagement, or the fee rolls into a full project. Either way, it's the smartest first step for any complex build.

Fixed fee, no surprises

You know exactly what you're getting and what it costs before we start. Scope changes require mutual agreement; nothing is added without your sign-off.

Shared project board

Every task, milestone, and deliverable is tracked on a shared board. You have real-time visibility into exactly where the project stands at every step.

Launch support included

Every project includes a full QA pass and launch support. By the time we go live, the work has been tested, refined, and proven.

Phase 02 · Project

Defined scope. Fixed fee. Built to launch.

Every Sideways project is scoped to your church's exact needs; working with the platforms you already use. Fixed fee, phased payments, and full visibility throughout the build.

Let's scope your project

Phase 03 · Ongoing Partnership

Your church tech partner, always.

An Ongoing Partnership with Sideways puts an experienced church tech partner in your corner continuously. Whatever platforms your church runs; support, updates, integrations, and strategy to keep moving forward.

Sideways has been an important partner for us. Steven is absolutely great to work with. He's always focused on our "why" so he quickly understands what we want (not just what we're asking for) and is able to build better pages than we planned. I'd recommend him to anyone for Rock-based web design and construction.
